The Sutton Place Hotel Receives a Green Key
Eco-Rating
Vancouver, BC (March 18th, 2008)

Vancouver’s Sutton Place Hotel is proud to
announce they have been awarded a 3 Green Key
Eco-Rating by the Hotel Association of Canada (HAC).
“We
are delighted to have been recognized as a Green
Key property,” says The Sutton Place Hotel’s
General Manager, John Sandor. “This just
confirms our commitment to enforcing policies
and programs to help preserve our natural
resources and our environment.”
A 3 Green Key Eco-Rating is awarded to a hotel
that has taken significant steps to protecting
the environment. Further criteria for selection
consist of strong environmental programs, best
management practices and training programs. As
well, the hotel must demonstrate engineering
solutions implemented to benefit the environment
and the local community.
The Sutton Place Hotel has given much
consideration to environmentally friendly
solutions over the years so this Green Key
rating is well deserved. Some of these practices
include: reduction in, and proper use and
handling of, hazardous and toxic substances;
energy and water conservation and efficiency
usage; waste management and resource use
reduction, reuse and recycling; “Eco-purchasing”
– factoring environmental considerations into
purchasing decisions.
