Telephone Scam

There is a phone scam being conducted in Canada to obtain credit card numbers and other personal information.  

The most common approach is for an individual to receive a phone call, sometimes computer generated, advising him or her they have won a free night’s stay or a vacation from Sandman Hotel Group and other well-known companies. The individual is then asked to provide a credit card number and/or other personal information.  

This is a scam as Sandman Hotel Group does not partake in telephone promotions. These incidents should be reported to the RCMP Canadian Anti-Fraud Call Centre by calling 1-800-495-8501 (PHONEBUSTERS), sending an email to info@phonebusters.com, or online at www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/scams-fraudes/tf-ft-eng.htm.
