Science World

Stimulate your senses at Science World, one of Vancouver’s top attractions for all things science, biology, and technology. The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver may not be able to give you a 3D laser show, but this incredible venue will. There’s also the Alcan Omnimax Theatre, a dome featuring an 88-foot wide screen that spans 180-degrees around the seats in the theatre. All of this fun is just a 10-minute drive away.

So you’re not too far from experiencing all that Chinatown has to offer, including the vast amount of restaurants, but also specialty stores, historic and architecturally stunning buildings, and more.

Gastown

It doesn’t get much better than when you stay in the heart of the city at The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. You’re just a 15-minute walk or five-minute drive to many incredible and popular spots, including Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood: Gastown. Founded in 1867 by John “Gassy Jack” Deighton, he would kick-start this growing area after first setting up a tavern here. These days, you’ll discover the fashion scene of Vancouver. Be sure to take note of the Victorian-era influences throughout the neighbourhood, which runs north of the downtown Vancouver peninsula from Richards east to Main Street and south to Hastings Street.

Vancouver Art Gallery

Steeped in history, the Vancouver Art Gallery, founded in 1931, features the Institute of Asian Art, which showcases First Nations artists in the region. There are more than 12,000 pieces here, including many works by famed Canadian artist Emily Carr. You must put this iconic venue in your itinerary. It’s so close, at just a 5-minute walk from The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver.

Museum of Vancouver

Have you ever wanted to walk the steerage deck of a 19th-century passenger ship or sit in an authentic Canadian Pacific Railway passenger car from the 1880s? Well, you can do that and so much more at the Museum of Vancouver, located just a 15-minute walk from The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. This unique venue was established in 1894 to continually showcase early Vancouverites and how the city has developed and changed through the decades.

Make your way only 10 minutes by taxi from the doors of The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver, and take a guided tour, or check out a public festival, exhibition or concert.

From a pitch and putt golf course, tennis courts, lawn bowling greens, and more, there’s no shortage of things to see and do here.

The biggest sights to see up close are the First Nations Totem Poles at Brockton Point. Quite frankly, the number of things to do at Stanley park is too long to list here. You must see for yourself.
